About Susan Davis, Pet Nutritionist

About Ask Ariel Pet Nutritionist Susan Blake Davis, CCN

With her wealth of knowledge about holistic pet care and extensive experience recuperating rescued animals from shelters, Susan Blake Davis, Pet Nutritionist founded Ask Ariel Your Pet Nutritionist. Susan is a licensed Pet Nutritionist who provided pet health consultations at the The Veterinary Cancer Group and at several VCA Hospitals in Southern California. Working in conjunction with Dr. David Gordon, Holistic Veterinarian, Susan offered telephone consultations worldwide helping cats and dogs improve their heath using natural foods and supplements. Through her 10+ years of experience offering consultations, Susan developed holistic pet health protocols that could be used in conjunction with conventional veterinary care.

Prior to becoming a pet nutritionist, Susan gained valuable experience volunteering her time in animal rescue. She is the founder of Ariel Rescue, a 501(c) (3) public charity dedicated to saving the lives of shelter dogs in impoverished communities. Many of these animals were severely malnourished and sick but Susan saw their potential, and working with local veterinarians, restored them to good health. She saw the power of nutritious foods, holistic pet care and the benefit of natural supplements in their healing. Ariel Rescue saved over 1500 pets that would have otherwise perished.

Susan Davis, Pet Nutritionist, graduated with highest honors from the University of California at Davis and attained a Master’s Degree in Social Psychology and an MBA from UCLA. She also earned a Clinical Nutritionist Certification (CCN) from the Natural Healing Institute of Naturopathy. Susan is proud of her indoctrination into the Phi Beta Kappa Society, the Nation’s Oldest Academic Honor Society (pictured below).

As a Pet Nutritionist, Susan believes in using an integrative approach to health care—combining both conventional and holistic care in addressing a pet’s health concerns. Susan’s accomplishments have been featured on CBS News, Dog Fancy Magazine, CNN, in the Orange County Register and Women’s World Magazine. Susan was asked to address the importance of holistic pet care to pet food industry experts at the 2011 Pet Food & Supplements Industry Advisory Conference.
