Lung cancer is typically found in older dogs, with certain breeds like Boxers being more predisposed. Lung cancer in dogs can be classified into two main types: primary and metastatic.

Common cancers that metastasize to the lungs include osteosarcoma and lymphoma. Metastatic lung cancer usually presents with symptoms similar to primary lung cancer, though coughing is less common. These tumors often appear as multiple masses, and unfortunately, many metastatic tumors are too small to be detected on x-rays, often not visible until late in the disease's progression.
